What is the iON Digital Imaging System for Slit Lamps?
The iON Digital Imaging System is an intra-optical beam-splitter and camera mount that attaches directly onto a compatible slit lamp biomicroscope, turning routine anterior-segment and retinal examination into a fully digital, documented process. The unit splits the optical path between the clinician's eyepieces and an attached iPhone, so the exam continues uninterrupted while every finding is captured in high resolution for the patient record. Images and 4K video are captured with a simple screen tap or Bluetooth foot pedal, then archived locally, to iOS Photos, or to the Cloud for EMR/PACS transmission. Manufactured by Marco (Marco Ophthalmic, Inc.) and distributed internationally by Quantel Medical. KRIMS Meditech Solutions Limited supplies this system with delivery, slit lamp compatibility verification, installation and after-sales support.
What is it used for?
Digital documentation and archiving of anterior segment and retinal slit lamp examinations; patient education via live, HD-displayed diagnostic imagery; EMR/PACS-integrated ophthalmic imaging.
Clinical and operational benefits
Keeps the clinician focused on the patient during examination while automatically digitising and archiving diagnoses; HIPAA-compliant password protection and AES encryption protect patient imaging data; wireless display and Cloud sharing speed referral and consultation workflows.
